Lake 100 has been instrumental in getting Lake County to prioritize and invest in trails. As a member and Chairman of Lake 100’s Trail Committee and Friends of Lake County Trails, I’ve had access to influential community leaders who have supported efforts to engage policymakers. With over $4 million raised for trails and securing the inclusion of Lake County’s Regional Trail system on the State’s Priority Maps and Florida Greenways and Trails System Plan, we’ve positioned Lake County to receive state funding through the SUN Trail system. This collective effort has shown that trails are not just about quality of life, but also a significant investment in economic growth, with a projected 7:1 return on investment.
